Mountain tour on the Ankogel (3,250 m)

The Ankogel is the highest peak in the Goldberg group.

The view extends from the Wilder Kaiser to the Gesäuse and from the Großglockner to the Karawanken and the Dolomites.

The Ankogelbahn takes you up to about 2,600 m, and from the mountain station it’s 650 meters in altitude to the summit. At first you walk along the Tauernhöhenweg to the Radeckscharte. From the saddle it goes over pathless terrain to the Kl. Ankogel (3,096 m) getting steeper and steeper over an exposed ridge (difficulty I) to the summit, which is reached, secured on a rope.
